Hello Strava,
We gotta talk.
I’ve been an athlete all my life but since I’m terminally online, when I signed up for my first half-marathon through the slot canyons of Arizona, you know I also up for Strava at the same time. It helps that I get to crib Rachel Entrekin and Max Jolliffe’s routes.
Here’s the thing, though: everything in the ACD - Copy job description dovetails exactly with my professional history.
The campaigns I led at StockX were distributed through organic and paid social, GTM and activations, taking over CRM and our own digital magazine and commerce site. The hundreds of assets I oversaw every season grew our audience from thousands into millions, with 440% growth in just two years. Before shaping the voice at StockX, I helped shape the voices of hundreds of professional artists at B&A and Great Bowery as the Identity Director. Artists like Tristan Eaton and Platon and The Selby were my daily subjects and collaborators.
My journalism and reporting has set international news. I was the first to get Jordan Brand on record about sneaker violence, and broke the story confirming the first look at Kanye West’s first collab with adidas.
I leveraged that experience into two shows with Highsnobiety that I wrote, hosted, and produced. Segments and moments of these shows were designed and chopped for social and CRM, making it their best performing property for years. (Like when I taught Pusha T a new word.) That era of my career meant working closely with Nike, adidas, ASICS, New Balance, Jordan, Altra, ALO, and more.
One of my greatest strengths is people leadership. I started at StockX as an independent contributor, but over my time there I adopted five employees and hired two more, becoming the largest and most effective team in the Marketing org. I had more direct reports than anyone outside of Engineering. Our team interfaced with everyone else: C-Suite, Legal, GTM, Art, Social, Engineering, Operations. We were even responsible for significant portions of localization for brand campaigns in dozens of countries. Each of those team members have gone on to grow into greater, stronger roles throughout the industry.
I’d love nothing more than the opportunity to chat with the Strava team to see if we’re a fit. I’m so impressed with what you are doing and your impact and see the potential for even more growth. I would love to be part of it. (I just wish y’all’s Performance Predictions for me were a little more optimistic. Let me dream!)
Thank you so much. I hope we connect,
